Transcript of message from TV Broadcast 655 -- taken from Closed Captioning Text

-- Brother Tony Talbert: Praise God. I had a scripture come to me as Chip was talking there and you know it's like he said there. Everybody wants a healing but they don't want to pay the price to get the healer. And everybody wants a blessing but they don't want to pay the price. There is a price to pay and that price is your life.

( congregational amens ).

You know we're not here... I hope that you're not here to want to hear a bunch of blessings. This is not a place where you're gonna get a lot of blessings preachers and where we wave a magic wand and you jump from one side to the other. This is where you're gonna hear truth, beloved.

( congregational amens ).

It's gonna be truth that's gonna cross you. It's gonna be truth that separates you down the path. It's gonna bring you to a crossroad and you're gonna choose one way or the other. And if you want your life then you won't choose Christ. I can tell you that right now. If there's any other way you have to go you'll go the other way.

( congregational amens ).

What you have to do is you have to come to the end of yourself. What has to happen is the Lord bring you to the end of yourself 'cause you're not gonna come to the end of yourself. If you got a way out, you're gonna take that road every time. But if God's dealing with us and bringing truth to us we need to listen to it.

( congregational amens ).

There is a time accepted that God has for His people. He don't preach to everybody all the time. There's a time accepted. I believe this is a special occasion we have here tonight.

( congregational amens ).

And we need to hear what He's saying to us. You know we need to hear with an open heart. You know you need to lay down all the little thoughts you got that would take you here or there. God is speaking to us, beloved.

( congregational amens ).

He's giving you opportunity. He's giving me opportunity here to speak and to actually bow the knee is what it is. We need to bow the knee beloved. We don't know how. We're like Solomon saying we don't know how to go out or how to come in. I don't know if you think that you can or not but you can't. You can not go out. You have no understanding about how to direct your footsteps. We need the Lord, beloved.

( congregational amens ).

This scripture came to me over in Matthew 10, real familiar. You're gonna hear... I believe we're in a road. We're in a separation point here. I believe God has been dealing with us. He's been bringing us Word, giving us opportunity. But I believe--I honestly believe, I could be wrong. I don't want to by dogmatic but I believe this is the crossing road for many people that are sitting here tonight. There's a crossroad. You're gonna decide to either get in or to get out. I believe there's gonna be a point in this meeting here when we leave there will be no more sitting in the middle of the road. You're gonna go on with God or you're gonna go with your own way. You know I tell you we're blessed, beloved.

( congregational amens ).

God, we're blessed that God would even give us an opportunity. There's many people that are going through religion every day and they don't even have an opportunity. It says in verse 34, "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth..."--He didn't come to rub your feathers the right way--"...I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household." The ones that will try to hinder you from bowing the knee are gonna be the ones that's closest to you. You gotta forsake all, beloved. I don't care if the whole world goes to hell we need to accept Christ as our hope.

( congregational amens ).

We're talking about eternal life. We ain't talking about...you know Moses he was in the position to where he had everything his heart could desire but he chose rather to suffer affliction with the people of God. Why? It was eternal life that way than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.

( congregational amens ).

"He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." And listen to this. "And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me." You have to lose your life, beloved. "He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it."

You know this is not an easy thing. I know we may want something palatable for you, something that you could hear but this is the truth, beloved, tonight. We need to realize it's worth more to bow the knee to Jesus Christ. You know this world... I tell you this world is something. It makes you feel like that you know the best way but you don't.

( congregational amens ).

Let's take heed to what we hear tonight. God's speaking to us face to face.

( congregational amens ).

-- Brother Ron Peters: Praise the Lord. I appreciate this tonight. You know before this meeting the prayer on my heart was, God, meet with us and speak to men, women, boys and girls--speak to us. There's no other reason to be here tonight. You know, if we're not here desiring to hear from God... you know and I don't know why everybody's here. I want to be positive and say everybody's here because they want to receive something from the Lord, they want to hear. But you may not be. If you're a child you may be here 'cause your parents made you be here. Or maybe you feel obligated because a friend invited you or whatever, but you're here and God is here and God is speaking. And where you've got that combination God can do something.

( congregational amens ).

God can do something. But first He's got to do a work in your heart. He's gotta get you to a place where you want it like someone has said here tonight. You've gotta want it. And of course I was just thinking about some of the things that have been said tonight. You know Kenny got up first and said how important it is to have God's ways, you know to walk in God's ways not our ways. And then Chip got up and said what he did and then, I'm not sure who got up after Chip but, Tony, and he was talking about us hearing God's Word and not seeking our own way but seeking His way. And God is...well I guess what I'm trying to say is this--you know there's a scripture in Jeremiah chapter 10 I believe that says, "...the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man to direct his steps."

( congregational amens ).

There's another scripture. I believe it's in Psalms where it says, "There is a way that seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." You know and I was thinking of, just recently I've been thinking about the days that we're living in. I mean if you've been watching the news or you've been seeing some of the things that have been happening, my God, how close we are. I don't know how close we are, but I know we're closer than we were in Paul's day.

And I thought of this scripture over in Genesis chapter 6. Because in thinking about the coming of the Lord, there are some issues that had to take place. You know Paul over in 2nd Thessalonians said, he wrote unto them, "That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit," as to the coming of the Lord. And I was talking to Brian about this a little bit tonight. You know you can imagine after Christ departed and the church was formed and some of the things that were happening in the church, why the people might have thought the Lord's coming was soon right then because there was persecution. They were being put to death. You know all these things that Jesus prophesied were taking place in their day.

And you think about it down through every generation, probably every generation could say the same thing, because the farther we get away from Christ and the original church, the farther the get away the worse condition man gets in. Man has grown worse and worse and worse and Jesus speaks of the very last day. He says it's gonna be a time as never been on the face of this earth, and my God if we aren't getting there in his hour.

And it all has to do with this one thing that we've been talking about here tonight. And if you read over here in Genesis chapter 6 and I'm just gonna pick it up in the first verse. It says, "And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose."

Now I want us to look at that for just a minute. I mean sure, he's talking about marriage here and I think marriage is very important. And I think that you girls, you boys, you find a girl and you think that's the one. You gotta have her or you've gotta have him. I'm gonna tell you, what you need to do is be like the servant of Abraham that went out to find a wife for his son Isaac. That's what you need to be like. You need to be saying God, what's your will for my husband, for my wife.

( congregational amens ).

You don't need to be choosing and picking and choosing who you think is right. See but that's the condition of man. And I'm gonna get to that in a minute, but we need to say God, help us. Help us. See that's a heart that's wanting to do God's will above their will. See because if you read that scripture over in 2nd Thessalonians and I'm gonna turn over for just a second. When Paul is talking about the end and what some of the things that had to happen before the Lord came. One of the main things that he pointed out and this is in 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2, in verse 2. I'll just pick it up there. It says, "That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand." I don't think we need to worry about that. I know the Lord's coming is gonna be when it's coming. I mean He's gonna come when it's time. The thing I want to be concerned about is, God, am I walking with you.

( congregational amens ).

Am I walking with my brother, the bread that Chip talked about, partaking of His bread and His blood? You know who that is? That's your brother and your sister. That's the Body of Christ and if you reject the Body of Christ you just reject Him. You've just rejected Him. I don't care if you think that this is just some jerk that's coming over to tell me something that ain't true. I'm gonna tell you, you've just rejected Christ. If Christ resides in your brother and that brother comes to you out of a heart and a concern for you and you reject that you've rejected Christ.

( congregational amens ).

And you're not gonna be blessed--you're not gonna be blessed until you say blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

( congregational amens ).

But anyway we don't need to worry...you know I don't think we need to worry about it. Sure I think it's gonna be soon. I don't know if it's gonna be in my generation or not. It doesn't make any difference. I want to walk with the Lord.

( congregational amens ).

But he said, "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;" Now who is this man of sin? Well, Paul's gonna explain who is right here in the next verse. "Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God shewing himself that he is God."

Let me tell you something--when you make up your mind that you're gonna do something and you don't think about God, you don't care what God has to say, you're not gonna listen to anybody but your own mind, you are sitting on the temple. You are sitting on the throne of your life. You are calling the shots.

( congregational amens ).

I don't care what you say. That's exactly what you're doing. That's exactly what you're doing and you know who that is? Paul just said. He's a man of sin. And I'm gonna tell you, if you've been watching the news you saw this basketball thing that happened. I'm gonna tell you there's no restraint anymore.

( congregational amens ).

God has pulled back His restraint. You know men used to have a conscience. Men used to...you know things or thoughts might come into their mind at some point maybe not too many years past people used to go to church. Sure there may not have been any Christ there but there was some Word. There was some truth and that little bit of truth served as a restraint. Well let me tell you, that ain't happening anymore 'cause people don't care about God. They're not looking for God. And now when that thought comes into their mind there's nothing there to help resist it. They just give into it. The thought comes, they react, and that's what's happening in this hour, beloved. But I'm gonna tell you something it's not just the world that it's happening to. I see it affecting the church.

( congregational amens ).

And that's what we need to be concerned about and that's what we are concerned about. And it's not to browbeat people or hurt you or beat you up. Christ doesn't bring His truth to hurt you. Jesus said in John chapter 8, I believe, verse 32, he said, "If ye continue in my word, ye shall know the truth..." and what will the truth do? Is the truth gonna kill you? It's gonna set you free.

( congregational amens ).

It's gonna kill you.

( laughing ).

You're gonna die but it's not gonna be a physical death. And I'm gonna tell you something once you die you're gonna enter into such a wonderful, blessed life.

( congregational amens ).

The life of Christ is gonna come out of you. That's all that can come out of you because out of death comes life. But I wanted to bring that out tonight because I think the Lord's speaking to somebody--not just me. I believe He's speaking to me. I got needs. You know I got problems. I keep ascending to the throne of my life and wanting to do my own thing but thank God He's bigger than me and He can knock me off that throne.

( congregational amens ).

And I thank Him for it. I praise Him for it. I mean that's a good thing. It's not good for my flesh but it's good. And we need to rejoice and we need to thank God for it.

( congregational amens ).

But I'm gonna tell you, God is speaking tonight. God wants to get a hold of our hearts and our minds tonight. He wants to stir us up. He wants us, like the articles Phil's been writing, to examine ourselves, not examine yourself so that you keep going down farther and farther and farther. Oh God. Oh woe is me but examine yourself and if you see that need there that you'll cry out to God and not just cry out to Him, but expect Him to answer you and come and meet your needs because He will. "He's a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." He is a rewarder.

( congregational amens ).

And He's here to reward tonight.

-- Brother Steve Sharpe: Turn with me to Ezekiel chapter 20. Oh my God, we're hearing the truth here tonight. God is pleading with us face to face. I think the manifestation of what we see in the world today, and what Ron was talking about mankind, and even in the church, is that spirit of rebellion. The loosing of Satan like we've never seen it before.

I've never seen rebellion like I see it today. Everywhere I turn and oftentimes when I look in the mirror, I see it. God wants us to humble ourselves before Him. I see it in children. I see it in the work place. Nobody wants to be ruled over. Nobody wants any authority. But God is gonna rule over us. And it's because He loves us.

( congregational amens ).

A very familiar scripture, and I don't know that I can do it justice, but it's a scripture that came to me at the beginning of the service, and I didn't understand why but now I do. In verse 33, this is certainly on the heels of the prophet Ezekiel talking to the house of Israel about their own worship. They had their own worship. What is our idol today? We have idols in our lives. I don't care if you're 90 years old or 9 years old, we have things that we want to appease our flesh more than we want to please God. It says in verse 33, "As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:" Thank God He's stretching out his arm to us.

( congregational amens ).

It says, "And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out. And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face." God has been pleading with us face to face--face to face.

The face of God is what you look at in your father and in your mother, and in your brother and in your sister. We think we know better. We've said, well I know more than they do. God help us to humble ourselves when God sends someone to us. "Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD. And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:"

What is that rod? It's the authority of God--not what you think is the authority of God but what God has chosen to rule over you with. And it's not to beat us up. Certainly it can correct us as the rod that a shepherd has. He uses it oftentimes to hook the sheep that's trying to be rebellious and try to bring them back in. But it's to correct us. It's to protect us.

Oftentimes the shepherd, he would count his sheep and all would come underneath the rod when he'd bring 'em into the fold. God wants us to come under his rod. And it says, "And I will purge out from among you the rebels..." You are not gonna serve God--I am not gonna serve God with a rebellious spirit. God dwells with them that of a humble and a contrite spirit and trembleth at His Word.

( congregational amens ).

God is here in this place to plead with us--to plead with me and with you. What is your God? What is it? Is it the Lord God? Is it the Lord God in His people? God help us. "...And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols. For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.

"I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you..."--Oh my God, I want to be sanctified. I want Him to be sanctified in me--"...before the heathen. And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers. And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed. And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD."

Let us hear what God is saying in this place and in this time. Let us hear. God give us ears to hear and a heart that can be humbled before Him. I know I need it in my life. There's not a one here that don't need it. God is doing a mighty thing in the earth today and I'm glad to be a part of it. Praise His name!

( congregational amens ).

-- Brother Jimmy Robbins: Matthew chapter 11. I thank God for this truth tonight. It's exactly what we all need, every one of us. You know the devil might be just telling you tonight that God is a mean God. He's got a club and a stick and He's gonna beat you up with it and make you kowtow and do this and do that. I want to say this to you, your biggest problem is that you love your life.

( congregational amens ).

You love your life. You love it so much that you're willing to keep going the way you're going. You're going to go straight to hell. You can read your Bible, you can pray, you can come to this church or any other of our churches and smile, and shake hands, and hug people's necks. If you are a rebel you're not gonna make it into heaven, 'cause only the ones that fall down on that rock and they are broken, or that rock will fall on you and grind you to powder. There's no other way.

Is there any other way, Brother Jim, but just two ways? There's only one way to God. Either you're gonna go the way of your flesh or you're gonna go God's way. You're gonna have to forsake all, everything--boyfriend, girlfriend, houses, lands, everything. You're gonna have to forsake it all. We hear in the Bible about the sword that's going all around keeping the way into the tree of everlasting life. It's a flaming sword. You say, I can't go through there. It'll kill me. Oh my, my, my, don't we need to die?

( congregational amens ).

Don't we need to die to this flesh? When you go through that sword, yes, you'll die to this flesh, but you will reap a tremendous blessing from God. You will have eternal life--eternal life. The Lord Jesus will come into your life. Aren't you about tired of running? Aren't you...is your life in a mess? You've done everything you know to fix it. You can't fix this. Only the Lord Jesus can fix it?

( congregational amens ).

Like a kid out there with his bicycle, the chain pops off or something goes wrong, and sometimes they start throwing their bicycle up in the air and slamming it down, crying, kicking, and cussing. And you take it to Daddy. He hugs him and loves him, puts the chain back on it, puts a little oil on it, tightens it up, fixes the little tassels and the bell and makes sure it's working.

The Lord Jesus wants to fix you up. There's only one remedy, that's for you to bow the knee to Jesus Christ. Let's look at His nature--Matthew 11, verse 28. Here's an invitation. "Come unto me..."--Is this you tonight?--"...all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will..."--Beat you with a club when you come? No, no, no, no--"...I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me..."--For what?--"I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest..."--Rest, sweet, wonderful rest--"...unto your souls. For my yoke is..."--Hard?--"...My yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

The devil has lied to you tonight. He's lied to you telling you that you can't do this, it's too hard. Lay down your life, He'll give you eternal life. I'm gonna warn you tonight, if you are determined to keep going the way you're going, God only knows but your time will be up. Jesus says, "O Jerusalem, O Jerusalem, how oft I would have gathered you as a hen would her chickens and ye would not."

They didn't like the package. You may not like the package that God uses to speak to you. You better look beyond the package and see Christ. If you receive the one that God sends--if you receive the one Christ and also God the father. Jesus told 'em they missed the day of their visitation and ye shall not see me henceforth until you say blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Destinies will be sealed tonight right here in this place.

-- Brother Chip King: Praise the Lord. Let's all stand, please. How many of you believe the Lord is speaking here tonight?

( congregational amens ).

How many of you believe that Jesus Christ is here to meet needs? How many of you believe that Jesus Christ is here to change your heart? How many of you believe that Jesus Christ is able to change your heart?

( congregational amens ).

Hallelujah, praise His name! He alone is the one. That's who we've been talking about here tonight. The reward is eternal like, but the need is in the heart. The heart needs to be changed and He is the one that can work that miracle. I thank God for it. If you have felt something here tonight. If you have recognized the voice of the Son of God speaking to you--no matter what it is, no matter how long you've been coming here or how little you've been coming here, your opportunity here tonight is to come forward and bow your knee to Jesus Christ.

( congregational amens ).

And you won't do it perfectly, but all He looks upon is the heart. You start where you're at and Jesus Christ will not disappoint you. Just as Jimmy read, He says, "Come unto me all ye that labour and heavy laden." He says come to me all that are laboring or heavy laden, and He says, and I will give you rest. Do you want rest? Do you need help? Jesus Christ, the helper is here. Praise His name. You come. I don't even know whether we need any singing tonight. Let's just bow our heads and if you feel your need, you come up here and we'll pray with you.

( congregational amens ).

Saints, lift your hearts to God. He is here to meet needs. God work--move on hearts, oh God as only you can Father. Minister Lord. Oh God draw, Lord, none can come to the Son except the Father who sent him draw them, Father. May your drawing power move in our midst oh God. Come by your spirit and speak to hearts. Meet us Father, we need you desperately, Lord. God, we thank you Lord that you're able. Oh God, you're able.

Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah! Bless your name Lord, bless your name. We bow before you, Lord. We bow before you. Move on lives, Lord. Surely there are more that need to come. My God, you can come to the Savior here. Jesus Christ the Son of God beckons. He beckons you. Praise his name!

( congregational praise ).

Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah! Oh Lord we thank you.
