Transcript of message from TV Broadcast 468 -- taken from Closed Captioning Text

-- Brother Thomas: Our subject today--I know I've never preached on this before, never used this subject. The subject is exploitation of sex. I don't think you can disagree with me after we get started here.

I understand we have visitors. We're glad to have you. And I like to always say this, it's not an accident that you're here. You're here by the divine will of God. We might call it permissive will, or deliberate will, or any other kind of will, but I know He's in control. And He wouldn't have you come here and be in this service if it wasn't His will. And He wouldn't have you come here and be in this service just to sit and listen, but to take to heart some of the things that you hear. You certainly need to realize that God is exposing you to something you can benefit from.

Now, I have here--this is a booklet we wrote a good long while back. It's called "Sex and Marriage"--"Sex and Marriage." Now since this message will be heard by way of radio and on television, I'd like for folks to know that you can write in and get this.

-- Brother Jimmy Robbins: Or call the toll free number.

-- Brother Thomas: Toll free number, that's right. That's the Midnight Cry Broadcast and it's free. Nothing could be any cheaper than that.

( laughter ).

Somebody said it must not be anything good then if it's free. Not so. Some of the greatest things in the world is free. Salvation is free.

( congregational amens ).

Because another paid for it--Jesus. So don't forget now. That's a good little booklet there and it's got a lot of material in it, a lot of things that we discuss. It's been written...I don't know how long ago--but nevertheless, it's available if you want it.

I was talking to some couple here not too long ago--in fact I think it was a woman. I don't even remember who, but I've given advice in these things many times. And I told her, I said your husband's hope of salvation may be dependent on you staying with him and being a genuine Christian. Through your testimony and through association with you as his wife, you may be the means of causing him to turn to the Lord. And that vice versa--man finds himself married to an unbelieving woman and she's pleased to dwell with him. He may be the means of her coming to the Lord. He may be the means of her being saved.

But he adds this in verse 14 about the husband or the wife--their participation in that marriage union is sanctified. That's what he is talking about. The husband nor the wife are actually saved because of the salvation of their spouse whether it be a man or woman, just simply means that God honors the marriage of that couple simply because one of those, the man or the woman, is His child.

And here's another thing--this shows you how much, how wonderful it is to know the Lord. He adds this in verse 14, "...Else were your children unclean; but now are they holy." That simply means this, that because of the faith of the mother or the father, there is a special recognition and blessing upon those children. That means something. It means something for you to have a godly mother or father. And more yet father and mother. "...But now are they holy.

"But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or sister is not under bondage in such cases: But God hath called us to peace. For what knowest thou O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife? But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches." Now what he's saying there is, don't change the marital status when you come to the Lord. Don't use that as an excuse to leave or break it up. You just abide like you are. And there is even a blessing upon your children because of the faith of the one parent. That's wonderful isn't it?

And now I want to say something about girls and boys leaving home, especially where there is a God-fearing mother or father or both, and you leave home because of the lust of your flesh. What you're doing--you don't think of it this way, but you're leaving the Lord. You're turning your back on Him and you're going out there and joining up with devils. Did you understand what I said? You're going out there with people who have no regard for your soul.

If you could visualize--if you could see what they're doing. When they leave the door of that kind of environment, that kind of church, that kind of parents, they're walking to the door and they're devils out there beckoning them, saying come on, we'll take you. We'll show you a good time. And they believe that. And they're just led right away.

The Word teaches separation, Old Testament and New. In the Old Testament, this was in types and shadows, God wouldn't let them plow and ox and ass together. He wouldn't let them mingle seed, different kind of seeds in a row. They weren't supposed to do that. And the lesson was to teach separation. Everything will bring forth after its own kind. I would to God I could get this over to you.

1st Thessalonians chapter 4, verses 3 through 5, "For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: that every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God." Your body's not yours to do with as you please. It's just a matter of time when you leave an environment, you don't just leave an old church someplace, an old preacher, an old bunch of people. You leave the temple of God. You don't just leave them, you leave the place of angels. And you're going rather and choosing rather devils instead of angels.

Do you know why "the angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them"? We had a vision many years ago and they had churches in this vision, numerous churches and some of them were dark. And there was one church there that was full of light. And the angels of God was coming to that church because they were ministering to it. Angels are ministering spirits that's sent forth to minister to who?

-- Congregation: Heirs of salvation.

-- Brother Thomas: Heirs of salvation. That's exactly right. So everything that you need is with God's people. And this is why the scripture says in Ephesians chapter 5, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness" verse 11, 5:11 "but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret." That's things that people hide. If they were right, they wouldn't be hiding it.

Verse 14 he says, "Wherefore he saith, awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is." We shouldn't be aimlessly in anything we do. We should be led of the Lord. God wants us to.

I just want to give you an Old Testament scripture or two. Let's go to Genesis chapter 24. Now this is where Abraham sent his servant out to get a wife for Isaac. He went to the place and at a well where the women came out to draw water. This young lady came out there, Rebecca is who it was. Verse 16, Genesis 24, "And the damsel was very fair to look upon,"-- she was beautiful and "a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up. And the servant ran to meet her, and said, let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher. And she said, drink, my lord; and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink. And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking."

Then she watered the camels. But, why do you think God puts that in there? He puts the fact in there that she was a virgin because He wanted us to know. That means that's important to God. And then I've got another scripture that I want to give you. I believe this is in Leviticus. I could give you a lot of them but no need of it. This is instructions that God gives to Moses concerning the priesthood and the priests. In this case the priests were the sons of Aaron. They were supposed to be dedicated. They weren't just supposed to be like everybody else. Verse 12 of Leviticus 21, "Neither shall he"--that's the priest, "go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the Lord. And he shall take a wife in her virginity."

Listen to verse 14. "A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife." Not just any of them, but a virgin. It's important to God. Now that was a priest. How many of you realize that you're a priest? Are you a Christian? How many here's a Christian? Everyone of us belong to the priesthood. Do you know why? We can go to God. We have access to Him. In behalf of others I pray every day of my life. Some of your names I call before God on a regular basis. Sometimes...I can't remember everyone of you every time. Sometimes I pray for different ones because I desire God's best for you. I desire God's blessings. I....even you young people.

It's like I said here a while ago. You know, when the devil works upon a kid, wants him to get out, get away from home, it's because the devil has got a hold of them. And the devil, of all things, hates authority. These kids sometimes they got spirits in them. They don't like the authority of their mother and their father. That's why they would leave. But they don't see the devil. He wouldn't dare show them who he is, nor why. He wouldn't dare tell them why he wants to get them out there, away from that parental authority. He wouldn't tell you that. He'd tell you you're going to have a good time living your life, do as you please, go with who you want to go, when you want to go, and where you want to go.

But then again, many girls who are in a state of rebellion that leave home, the devil does not show you the end of that rebellion. He just shows you what he wants you to see then. He doesn't show you what'll happen to you. For instance now let's, let's just visualize something. There's a girl walking down the sidewalk in the city. She's all painted up, got on high heeled shoes, little short dress here, showing her thighs and her buttock, maybe a cigarette in her mouth. A car drives up to the curb. She walks over, talks to the men in there. She gets in and they drive off. She's a prostitute. You got all kinds of prostitutes. You got some that come down to that level that she occupies.

She didn't do that to begin with. She never had imagined that she would. But when she left home, she went out among all them devils in people. And those devils began to try to influence her. One of the last things that she might have thought about doing was to sell her body. But if she's...depending on how nice she looks. You've got all kinds of prostitutes. You got regular street walkers like I just described, then you got these high class prostitutes they call call-girls. Now they are beautiful as a rule. They are educated, wear nice clothes. They know how to act out in public places. They don't just go with anybody. They wouldn't lower themselves to go with somebody on the street, but they have some kind of a businessman's convention....
