Transcript of message from TV Broadcast 466 -- taken from Closed Captioning Text -- Brother Thomas: Our subject today--I know I've never preached on this before, never used this subject. The subject is exploitation of sex. I don't think you can disagree with me after we get started here. I understand we have visitors. We're glad to have you. And I like to always say this, it's not an accident that you're here. You're here by the divine will of God. We might call it permissive will, or deliberate will, or any other kind of will, but I know He's in control. And He wouldn't have you come here and be in this service if it wasn't His will. And He wouldn't have you come here and be in this service just to sit and listen, but to take to heart some of the things that you hear. You certainly need to realize that God is exposing you to something you can benefit from. Now, I have here--this is a booklet we wrote a good long while back. It's called "Sex and Marriage"--"Sex and Marriage." Now since this message will be heard by way of radio and on television, I'd like for folks to know that you can write in and get this. Brother Jimmy Robbins: Or call the toll free number. Brother Thomas: Toll free number, that's right. That's the Midnight Cry Broadcast and it's free. Nothing could be any cheaper than that. ( laughter ). Somebody said it must not be anything good then if it's free. Not so. Some of the greatest things in the world is free. Salvation is free. ( congregational amens ). Because another paid for it--Jesus. So don't forget now. That's a good little booklet there and it's got a lot of material in it, a lot of things that we discuss. It's been written...I don't know how long ago--but nevertheless, it's available if you want it. Of course, there'll be a video made of this message this morning. Cameras are zooming in on us there now and they may zoom in on you. Just smile, cause you'll be on candid camera. ( laughter ). We cannot imagine just how sex is exploited. Of course man in his natural state, he does the things willingly and unwillingly, as Satan influences him and he's not even aware of it. First thing I'm going to mention though is this. The world exploits sex in so many ways. Your fashion designers who design dresses, and I suppose men's clothes also, they're conscious of this one thing when they design. They design them in such a way that the woman will look sexier. And they like that. I'm talking about the women of the world. At the present time, you know what I'm talking about. You see it on TV and everywhere. Some people that I more or less respect--characters, you know, they're public figures, maybe celebrities--among women, dresses come up between the knee and the hip. That's how short they are. And there's a tremendous pull on young people. I'll say this. There's a tremendous influence upon you to be like the world--to be like it, to look like it, to act like it, yeah, and smell like it. But God says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." That's what God says. That's what we ought to be working towards. And what about the movies? This thing about the movies--if you took sex and violence out of the movies, they'd close up tomorrow. Because that's the one thing that they magnify. That's the power of sex. However, I have a special reason for this message. My reason for this message is how some of our young people are being influenced. Some of them have almost made shipwreck of their lives, because they were in the wrong place and with the wrong people. Your boy or your girl...if you really know the Lord, mothers and fathers, you ought to do everything in your power to get them to associate with other boys and girls that really know the Lord. I mean really have some convictions. God knows we need to do what we can. "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?" 1st Corinthians 6, that's verse 9, "Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." I'm thankful for that, aren't you? ( congregational praise ). God can save people, no matter what kind of sinner they are. No matter what kind of sinner, His blood is efficacious. It can cleanse us from all sin. Coming on down in the 13th verse, last part, that's the 6th chapter. "Now the body,"--get rid of this candy here. "Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. Know ye not that your bodies," listen to this, "are the members of Christ?" You mean our bodies are members of Christ? That's exactly what it says. Would you take something that belongs to Christ, that's His--it is Him. Now if He was down here walking around in the flesh of Jesus of Nazareth, would you want Him to go with you to a whorehouse? Would you take Him on a party? That's what you're doing when you take this. This body is members of Christ. "Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot?" That's what He's asking. Think about it. "God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit." I want you to listen to these scriptures. "Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body." You're defiling your own body. "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" Your body's not yours to do with as you please. When you come to Christ, you're supposed to give it to Him. I gave Him my body. What little mind I have, I gave Him that. I gave Him everything I had, because it's His. He purchased it. You don't belong to yourself. "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." Now, our bodies are God's temple, as I've already said. Third chapter of 1st Corinthians verse 16 and 17, listen to this, "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God." Does God dwell in you? If He does, you're the temple of God. "And that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God," listen to this, "him shall God destroy." I didn't say that. God says if you defile this temple and He's talking about what we've been talking about. Nothing is any more vile than fornication or adultery. "If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy." Do you know what makes it holy? His presence inside of you, that's what makes it holy. Now, I want to give you a case of fornication in the church. That was in this church right here. This just bears out exactly what I'm telling you. Paul wrote, and says here, "It is reported commonly." That means that it was common knowledge. That's chapter 5 verse 1. "It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife." Now I believe that it wasn't the man's mother--his father's wife. His mother could have been dead, the man that he had reference to, that's guilty of fornication with his father's wife. I prefer to believe she was a younger woman. And he was doing that on the side. "And ye are puffed up," is what he says to the church--the church was, "and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed." Now here was his instruction to that church at Corinth. "In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus." What's he saying? He's saying when you come together as a church...Paul, naturally he was an apostle, he was concerned. I'm not preaching this today just because of this church or any other church, but it's for a lot of them. It's for anybody who'll listen to this message. We've got a lot of young people. There's five little girls sitting there. They're right on the brink of being grown young women. If I could save them from a life of shame and ruin, I'd do it. And I'm responsible. I would not be faithful, if I wasn't responsible to tell you the truth. Let's go on here, 1st Corinthians 5. This church was instructed when they met together--the church had the authority to do this, to deliver this man "unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit might be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus." Kill him! That don't mean they personally took brick bats and killed him. Of course, they did stone them in the Old Testament. You don't know this, but I've done just what this is talking about here. That's been a number of years ago. There was a man in the church guilty of this sin. I told him to stand up before the whole church. I said, let it be known that you are no longer a member of this church. Don't come back here anymore. He hasn't. He left. I don't know what's happened to him. Of course, I'm preaching this to try to help you see your need that you might repent. If you repent, praise God! You're just a sinner saved by grace. I don't condemn you to hell, but there's a powerful thing here. This is why young people--girls as well--when they mature and reach adulthood, they want to leave home. One of the main reasons they want to leave home is they want to do as they please. They want the freedom to go with who they want to go with, shack up with who they shack up with. And a lot of them do. I say this, a girl, her place is at home with her mother and father until she marries. And I hope it's a mother and father that prays with her. I hope it's a mother and a father that's concerned about her. I hope it's a mother and father that just don't let her do as she pleases. They know where she's at. When my kids were growing up, I was always concerned about where they were at. If they were out with somebody, I knew who. If they stayed out longer than I said, I'd be there waiting at the door. I couldn't even sleep that night as long as my kids were out. And the devil is doing everything he can to destroy the church this day and time, I mean. |
