Transcript of message from TV Broadcast 441 -- taken from Closed Captioning Text -- Bro. Jimmy Robbins: We've got a large number of folks here already and more are coming in all the time. We do already have the extra seats out. The Lord said to tell them, compel them to come in that My house may be full. I don't believe it's gonna be long before the Lord brings in the last one. His house will be full. There will be no need, no reason to continue any longer. God will say, it's enough. My Son, go and get Your bride, and He'll take us home. Won't that be wonderful? ( congregational amens ). This place is in a mess--confusion everywhere, darkness everywhere. But thanks be to God, "where sin abounded, grace did much more abound." We have so much to be thankful for. I choose not to be a negative person or a pessimist. I choose to be an optimist. And I believe that God is on the throne in spite of what we see and hear on the TV. In spite of what's going on round about us, God is in control. The devil can only do what God allows him to do. I do have something on my heart. I could speak a long time about it, but I won't. I'm just going to share it in a brief way. If the Lord wants to develop it, that's up to Him. If not, then at least I can unload my burden tonight. If you would, turn to 2nd Corinthians chapter 6, verse 14 through verse 18. The Word of God says, "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God." We are the temple of the living God, beloved. "As God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people." That's what we are. We're God's people tonight. "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." There's so much in those few verses of scripture. I don't even claim to even begin to be able to expound on it, but I can deliver my burden. I can deliver my heart. I can do that. Beloved, I don't think any of us here tonight understand the seriousness and the gravity of God Almighty and how He feels about us as God's people. We are special, beloved. We are the apple of God's eye. We're His children. And this world that we live in, it's not our home. This world's gonna burn up and go to hell. But we're citizens of a different kingdom. We're citizens of the heavenly Kingdom of God. And it makes a difference where we go, and it makes a difference what we do, and it makes a difference who we associate ourselves with. God doesn't want us to be ganged up in harmony with this world in no shape, form or fashion. He wants us to be lined up with Him and with His people. He wants us to walk together in unity and in love, in harmony with our brother. We can't walk together in harmony with God, if we're not walking together in harmony with one another. That's what the Lord was showing us last night. Our heart, our conscience, whatever is troubling us, whatever is in the way, let's get it out of the way, so that we can hug our brother's neck. A brother came to me last night. He said, Brother Jimmy, I've harbored something against you for a long time. I said, brother I'm so sorry if I did something to offend you. I'm so sorry, He said, no Brother Jimmy, you told me the truth and I didn't like it. Well listen, I just thank God for this young man. I praise God. He's been delivered from that heavy burden that he's been carrying. There were others here that were delivered. There's a young man I talked with and his name is Chris. He was weeping and God was moving upon his heart. You've come to the right place, Brother Chris. God is working in your life. Continue to come. Boys and girls, I want you to know that the devil has got his guns aimed at every one of you pretty girls, every one of you. And you boys, the devil has his guns aimed at you. You go to school-and this football player, I mean he's just got it together. He's got a big chest and he's kind of thin in the middle and he can run so fast and he's a star football player. He sees you walking down the hall and you're pretty. You've got Christ in you. You've got a bright countenance. And you are pretty, even in the natural. I believe that we've got the beautifullest young people anywhere in the world. I believe it, because Christ is in them. But he comes by and he says ( whistling ). I can't even whistle. ( congregational laughter ). ( whistling ). I've got a sore throat, I can't quite get it out. ( congregational laughter ). He says, hey pretty thing. You sure are looking good. What's your name? And he'll say something else. And he says, my name is so-and-so and I'd like to talk to you at lunchtime or whatever. It could be somebody--it might be a basketball player. It might be someone else. And that devil will come be and say, whew, boy! Did you see what he said to you? Wow! He said that to me? And your heart just begins to flutter. And the devil deceives you and the next thing you know, he's calling you on the phone. And the next thing you know, he wants to date you and take you out. Beloved, I'm gonna tell you tonight, there's trouble in River City. I believe in every one of our churches, I believe that we have young people that are dating people that are not a part of the body of Christ. Can you say amen to that? ( congregational amens ). It's the truth, so help me God. Some are involved to the point where they want to get married. Beloved, it's a serious thing to join yourself together with anybody, even if they're a Christian. Did you know that just because a boy is a Christian and a girl is a Christian, doesn't necessarily mean that God brings you together? ( congregational amens ). You say it's love at first sight. I say it might be lust at first sight. Beloved, what about the elders and the deacons? What about you parents? What are you doing to protect your children? Are you encouraging them to get to dating at 13 and 14? God have mercy upon you. Are you pushing them out, trying to get them to get involved? God have mercy upon you. Listen, we are the temple of the Living God! We don't want to yoke up ourselves with unbelievers. The devil wants to spoil you. He wants to take a young virgin. He wants to spoil you and just violate you. God would have you to look to Him, put first the Lord. Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you. God's not going to deprive any good thing from His children. God's made provision. How many of you tonight could say, Brother Jimmy, I have been a part of the body of Christ and I put the Lord first in my life. I thought it would never happen, but God brought me the one that He wanted me to have, and I'm so thankful to God. I'm so thankful to God that I waited on the Lord. Could you raise your hand tonight? I thank God for that. I could say the other way. I don't want to do that to embarrass anybody. There are some here tonight that didn't take the counsel of Brother Thomas, or an elder or a brother. And they went out and got married anyway and have some children, now their husband or wife don't want to come to church. There's a division there. There's no love, there's no unity and then he leaves. Isn't that sad. God help us. I won't turn to these scriptures, but I'll quote them. In Genesis chapter six it speaks of, "the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which" what? -- Congregation: That they chose. -- Bro. Jimmy Robbins: That they chose. And it says their thoughts were only evil continually. And God was grieved. And He was very grieved that He had made man. He was going to send a flood. It says, but Noah found grace-found grace. I thank God for Noah. He destroyed all living life, except for eight people. God takes it very serious about who we associate ourselves with. I don't know how to say it with the seriousness that it ought to be said. I don't want to put a damper on this service. But, I'm concerned about our boys and girls. God help you. Parents, let's take heed to our children. Let's go by the Word of God. Think about it. Your son or your daughter grows up in the church and then one comes along and wants to marry them and take them off. Do you think that's the Lord? God help us. I've delivered my burden. I don't know what else to say, but I'll say this. If you'll wait on the Lord, if you'll put Him first, He will not withhold any good thing from you. I was just thinking of some of the men. It's not impossible for God to bring people in. I was thinking of Brother Keith Green. Susan brought him to church. Keith was in the fast lane, climbing the corporate ladder, rapidly moving up. He had a big offer to go to New Jersey or somewhere. Susan told him, I'm gonna to serve God. I'm gonna stay with the church. I want the Lord in my life and if you want me, you're gonna have to want my Lord. These people, where they go I will go. Their God is my God. Where they lodge, I will lodge. Where they die, I will die. Susan pretty much told him that. Keith kept coming-kept coming. He knew that she meant what she said. And one day, he bowed the knee and God saved him. It's possible that God could bring someone in. Brother Patrick back here is another one. Sister Ellie, I don't know where she found him. ( congregational laughter ). But she found him. She was looking. She brought several. ( congregational laughter ). Bob, her father, has good discernment. He says, Ellie, he's a bum. He won't work. And me and Brother John would counsel Ellie and she'd cry crocodile tears. Surely this is the one. This is the one. No Ellie, this is not the one. He'd quote scripture. I mean, he'd quote scripture and he was a preacher's son. Had to be God. He said I'm a Christian. He'd come to church. He was about as phony as plastic. He was just phony baloney. He took her car and wrecked her car and took all the money she'd give him. I'm kind of exposing her a little bit, but I believe she'll appreciate this. Patrick came and went to the service in 1984 in the August meeting at the armory. He got so mad. He told Ellie I'm going back to Indiana. He said who does that man think he is? Moses? And Ellie told him, you go. I'm staying in Jacksonville. I'm staying with God's people. Patrick came back. He kept coming to church. He bowed the knee and God saved him. He's a wonderful brother in the Lord. Keith is, too. Girls, God can provide you with a husband. You don't have to strive or struggle in this thing. I'll give you another example. Brother Chip King here came from Canada. He's kind of tall and handsome and debonair and he swept Debbie off her feet at the college. She brought him to church and Brother Thomas told her, whoa! Stop! Just stop this thing right where it's at. Chip kept coming, didn't you? Chip kept coming. And the Lord saved him. What a precious brother he is. ( congregation amens ). What if Brother Thomas didn't give the right counsel and said well the Lord must be in it. Then someone marry and take our people off. I don't believe God's in that. I believe that God wants us to marry our own kind. You know when He put Adam to sleep. He put him to sleep and took of a rib. As Archie Bunker would say, He took one of the lower cuts. It wasn't a sirloin or the tenderloin. It was a rib. And He made a woman out of the man. Think about it. Of his own body, God provided a wife from his own body. I believe that God can provide you a wife and a husband from your own body, from the Body of Christ. I believe that's what God would have. Let's wait on God. That's the hardest thing in this world for us. We get all hot and bothered. These hormones get all jiving and carrying on and jumping. We've just got to have this one. We've got to have that one. If you'll wait on God, He'll provide the one that loves Jesus. Girls, for God's sake, wait on the Lord. Boys, wait on the Lord. God will bless you. He'll provide for you. I pray that God will help us men, fathers, mothers, elders, deacons let's be on guard. Let's be watchmen on the wall. Don't be afraid to tell these boys, look if you want God, you keep coming. If you don't want God, then you ain't got no business coming here. Just tell them straight up. Can you say Amen? ( congregational amens ). I've delivered my burden. -- Bro. Phil Enlow: Praise God! I appreciate that, Jimmy. I don't have any idea what I'm going to say, now. But the Lord's gonna have to help me, to give me something. But, I appreciate that because it's the absolute truth that God in calling His people, He calls us out of the world. He doesn't call us to be a part of it. The problem with this world is it's under the thrall of Satan. The spirit of Lucifer that caused him to depart from God in the first place, is what's controls this world. Lucifer wasn't satisfied with his place in God. He had a high and a mighty place. He was a beautiful, intelligent creature. But, he wasn't satisfied serving God. He had to do it himself. He had to strike out on his own and say, I will be like the Most High. I want to do it my way. That is absolutely the spirit that was imparted to human kind in the Garden of Eden. It's what we're born into. And, God help everyone of us to realize the seriousness of what God is calling us out of. There's an awful lot. Well, let's go to Genesis, I guess. Genesis chapter three, let's look at what happened there. It's as good a place as any, I guess because this is what happened when men fell. In this instance it said, "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field," though we know what He's talking about there was Lucifer. Whether he appeared in that physical guise or not, I have no idea, but it's Lucifer that He's talking about, it's Satan. "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" Right now, he's seemingly engaging her in some innocent conversation. But I tell you what, we don't need to be listening to the devil and trying to reason with him. You're talking about a being of whom Jesus said, "There is no truth in him." Think about that--no truth! Even if Satan were to stand here and read the Word and not change a word, it would not be the truth. I want you to think about that. Because there would be something of his spirit that would twist it--that would change it somehow. It wouldn't be the same. That's the reason we've got to have God's Spirit in ministering this Word. It's not the Word of God if it isn't His Spirit that's actually involved in it. And, we know what the devil did with Jesus. As soon as Jesus answered him with the Word in the temptation in the wilderness, the devil came right back with the Word. So, don't ever start entertaining thoughts. That was Eve's problem right from the get-go. She started listening to what the devil would put in her mind and began to consider that. Now, I'll tell you we're not going to go through this world without a whole lot of things the devil's gonna try to sow in our hearts and in our minds to cause us to consider. The thing we need to learn, every one of us, is to take a stand right there in our minds and say no. Learn to recognize when it's the devil who's behind it and say, wait a minute, God says thus and so. The more we come to that place that Jesus occupied, the better off we're gonna be. Now, if He had to do that, do you think we can get away without doing that? No. That's the way God has ordained that we stand and live in this world. The Lord's wisdom, I believe we're going to discover in the end is just so infinite, so beyond anything we can conceive. We go through this world and we don't understand this and we don't understand that and we don't understand the other. I'll tell you, we serve One who does understand. All that He wants from us is just to trust Him and believe Him. That's what it comes down to. That's where Eve got off, right here. Because, first the devil engaged her and said, "Yea, hath God said." Is that what He said? "Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die." So, she spoke the truth, but the problem is the one she's talking to. He's pretty smart--pretty slick, and there's not one of us here that's a match for him. There's only thing he understands and that's, no, God says this. That's the only approach, that's the only conversation we need to have with the devil. "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die." He directly contradicts what God had said about that. But then he gives a reason. And this is where we get tripped up a lot of times. The devil is very slick at backing up his lies and causing them to appear to be very reasonable. If your heart is wanting to go in the wrong direction, don't worry. Satan knows how to couch his lie in such a way that it will seem to be in line and harmony-and what it'll do is kind of feed that thing and give you a reason. It'll give you a reason for doing and going in the wrong direction that will make you feel OK. "Well, I know this isn't quite right, but...." He's real good with those buts. He loves to interject them. Now, let's sort of examine for a minute what the devil said here. "For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." So now he's explaining through his mind why God told her what He did. And what he did was to sow a seed of doubt-just this little seed of doubt. Hmm, God's not really concerned about my welfare, is He? He's got His own plan. He's got His own agenda. He's just telling me this for His own benefit. He's holding me back. He's keeping me from something that's good. When Jimmy quoted the scripture from the Psalms, or he referred to it, "No good thing shall He withhold from them that walk uprightly." There's not one good thing-you think that God who has got all these things planned for us; that sent His Son to die; do you think He really is going to withhold good things from us when they're truly good? The problem is we set our own definitions of what we think is good. Satan was appealing to her mind right here, got the wheels turning a little bit. Suddenly, she began to consider, you know something, maybe God hasn't really got my best interest at heart. Maybe I'd better do something about it. The whole thought of mankind today is nobody is going to look out for you. You've got to look out for number one. Isn't that kind of in a capsule form, the spirit of this world? Everybody's got to look out for himself. Praise God, I'm glad I've got One looking out for me! Praise the Lord! ( congregational amens ). You see the seed of doubt that was sown in her mind right here was simply a distrust of God. She no longer trusted God to do the right thing by her. That is at the heart of human rebellion. If you come to a place where you don't trust God, that's what sin is all about. That's why people are going to hell. This is the difference between faith and belief-faith and unbelief. Anyway, you know what I'm trying to say. Just keep your ears tuned right and you'll be able to sort of translate all this gibberish that's coming out of my mouth! |
