Transcript of message from TV Broadcast 440 -- taken from Closed Captioning Text

-- Brother Thomas: Let me say this about salvation. I said that curse can never touch you, that's true. He only died one time to redeem you from your sins, and He redeems you forever, not just for 30 days, not just for a period of time or if you hold out faithful. You're not gonna hold out faithful anyway. But He's gonna hold out faithful.

( congregational praise ).

But what does He do? How does He keep you? Does He just let you run astray, promiscuously in sin and do like the rest of the world? No, He don't let you. If you're a child of God...I'll say this. The first barrier against sin is your own conscience. When God saves you He quickens your conscience. Your conscience is never the same again. Any time you do by word, by deed, or anything that's against that conscience, that conscience rises up. It recognizes. It's very sensitive.

That conscience is the inner you. Actually it's Christ in you. He rises up and says, you shouldn't have done that. You shouldn't have said that. How many of you have ever done something you knew was wrong and you asked God to forgive you? That's quite a few, yeah. I don't see but two or three people that's holy.

( laughter ).

Well I'm glad you can confess it. There's mercy for you. We are God's child when we bow the knee to Jesus Christ His son. And we're His son forever! That don't mean that we don't...we're not aware of what's going on with our conscience and with us in our contacts with man, our brother in Christ and others. You don't feel good when you do something wrong. Your conscience protests--tells you you shouldn't have one that or shouldn't have said that.

The thing that you can do that will help free your brother--and this is very important, very important. When you go to him or to her, whichever the case may be, and just honestly open up and tell them, I said so and so or I did so and so, and I feel like it was wrong. I want you to forgive me. You not only get free yourself in doing that, but you set them free, and perhaps that's the greatest blessing of all. When you do that they have a sense of freedom.

And it does something in them that couldn't be done otherwise. They become more sensitive and self-conscious in that direction from then on out. So just remember God wants to forgive you. He wants--- but He wants your brother to be released from that bondage. That's why you need to confess it to him or to her. It won't hurt you. It'll just prove one thing, that you are a sinner like everybody else. Praise God!

But he that sows to the wind will reap the whirlwind sooner or later. "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." That means when you indiscriminately do things that's wrong, you don't get by with it. You won't get by with it today, nor tomorrow. And it gets on your trail like a bloodhound. That thing follows you until somehow God brings you down.

How many of you have ever hunted any? Some, I know some of you did. Did you ever hunt a rabbit and tree him in a hollow log, or a hollow tree? He can't go no further when you get him there. Well God will bring you to the place where you can't get away from your sin and it's for your good.

It's because He loves us, not because He hates you. God loves you with an everlasting love. Just like we don't whip our children because we hate them. We whip them whenever they do wrong and we know they need to be. They need to be chastised.

And that's exactly what the Bible says. The Bible says that God chastens His sons. "For what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers." There's no such thing as God having a son that he does not chasten.

Now it may not be a big major thing but He chastens you. He corrects you somehow, maybe just a twinge in your conscience. It may not constitute the worst sin in the world, but God does not ...He hates sin. He loves the sinner, but He hates sin. He brings you to the place where you recognize it and you say, Lord I shouldn't have done that or shouldn't have said that.

Don't make out like you don't do that or you don't deserve it. Then you'd be lying. There's sometime, somewhere that you have something that you need to ask God to forgive you of.

Everything we do as Christians affects us and not only does it affect us, it affects others. They see us, they hear us, or sometimes they're directly involved. They're directly involved and if you want to set somebody free, you just go up to him or her and say, Brother or Sister, I feel like I did wrong when I said this or did that. I want you to forgive me. Pay your debts.

A life in this world is trial enough but God will use you if you will live that kind of life. He'll use you to set others free. You may not know it but everything you do that helps you to get right with God, it helps others--it releases others.

So that truth--that scripture is true. It's a good scripture to learn. "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" And God classifies good things here as anything that your conscience bothers you about.

But thank God. If you're...now I'm talking to Christians now, this is, almost entirely. If you are a sinner you can never ask God to forgive you all the sins that you've committed. If we could put them up here on a blackboard, just one single person, we'd be writing from now to doomsday.

But thank God when Jesus died on that cross, He bore them all. He bore in His body our sins on the tree. "That we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." Not will be, but were. All you do to get the benefit of that is to believe on Him. Hallelujah!

( congregational praise ).

Praise God! And you, remember this, you set others free. That's perhaps one of the greatest things about it. It's personal forgiveness. It affects every member of the body of Christ. Hallelujah! Jesus breaks every fetter. Every fetter.

Well I know that this is not much of a message here tonight. Just a little, but it's always needed. And I'm going to ask you men now that's supposed to sing to come on up here. And I want you to be thinking. Is there anything that you can do that'll help others? Maybe you haven't personally done anything. Maybe you haven't personally did anything, but there's some misunderstanding or something and you can make it right, just by a word to them.

Did you know that that's the way revival comes? It's when individuals get right with their brother. When they get right. Hallelujah! The Lord wants to forgive somebody here tonight. Let's stand please. I ain't going to keep you long tonight.

I HEAR THE SAVIOR SAY,
"THY STRENGTH INDEED IS SMALL,
CHILD OF WEAKNESS, WATCH AND PRAY.
FIND IN ME THINE ALL IN ALL."

JESUS PAID IT ALL,
ALL TO HIM I OWE.
SIN HAD LEFT A CRIMSON STAIN.
HE WASHED IT WHITE AS SNOW.

LORD, NOW INDEED I FIND
THY POW'R, AND THINE ALONE,
CAN CHANGE THE LEPER'S SPOTS,
AND MELT THE HEART OF STONE.

JESUS PAID IT ALL,
ALL TO HIM I OWE.
SIN HAD LEFT A CRIMSON STAIN.
HE WASHED IT WHITE AS SNOW.

FOR NOTHING GOOD HAVE I
WHEREBY THY GRACE TO CLAIM;
I'LL WASH MY GARMENTS WHITE
IN THE BLOOD OF CALV'RY'S LAMB.

JESUS PAID IT ALL,
ALL TO HIM I OWE.
SIN HAD LEFT A CRIMSON STAIN.
HE WASHED IT WHITE AS SNOW.

-- Brother Thomas: I wonder if everyone in this place has a real clear conscience. As we sing that song which puts its finger on our lives. Do you have a clear conscience? Do you feel like everything is right or if the Lord was to come tonight--if the Lord were to come tonight, is there something that you'd love to confess before He comes? Is there something that bothers you? We're going to sing another verse or two. That's all. I'm not going to keep this invitation open. Go ahead.

JUST AS I AM, WITHOUT ONE PLEA,
BUT THAT THY BLOOD WAS SHED FOR ME.
AND THAT THOU BIDD'ST ME COME TO THEE,
O LAMB OF GOD, I COME! I COME!

-- Brother Thomas: I don't blame them. I'd come down too. If there is anybody back here, in your heart it smites, you know you need to confess it to God, first of all. Then if it leads to that you need to confess it to somebody. But that's who I am talking too now. I don't know who you are, but God does. God knows every one of you. While we sing another verse or two, I want you to join these. Come ahead. Go ahead, men.

JUST AS I AM, AND WAITING NOT
TO RID MY SOUL OF ONE DARK BLOT.
TO THEE WHOSE BLOOD CAN CLEANSE EACH SPOT.
O LAMB OF GOD, I COME! I COME!

-- Brother Thomas: One more verse now.

JUST AS I AM , THO' TOSSED ABOUT
WITH MANY A CONFLICT, MANY A DOUBT.
FIGHTINGS AND FEARS WITHIN, WITHOUT.
O LAMB OF GOD, I COME! I COME!

JUST AS I AM, POOR, WRETCHED, BLIND;
SIGHT, RICHES, HEALING OF THE MIND,
YEA, ALL I NEED, IN THEE TO FIND.
O LAMB OF GOD, I COME! I COME!

-- Brother Thomas: Now the Lord knew these people were out here. He knows about others out here that needs to make a move. While we sing you have the opportunity. I'm not trying to pull you. I just want you to get this stuff out of your system. Then God can bless this meeting. You're a hindrance to this meeting as long as you have anything inside of you. All right now you sing.

JUST AS I AM, THOU WILT RECEIVE,
WILT WELCOME, PARDON, CLEANSE, RELIEVE;
BECAUSE THY PROMISE I BELIEVE,
O LAMB OF GOD, I COME! I COME!

JUST AS I AM, WITHOUT ONE PLEA,
BUT THAT THY BLOOD WAS SHED FOR ME.
AND THAT THOU BIDD'ST ME COME TO THEE,
O LAMB OF GOD, I COME! I COME!

-- Brother Thomas: Young lady, you there that's weeping, have you ever been saved?

-- Young Lady: A long time ago.

-- Brother Thomas: Huh?

-- Young Lady: A long time ago.

-- Brother Thomas: I see, then you need to get in a church where you can be there regular and fellowship with God's people. All of you need to do that. You need to get in there. And anytime something like that...you see here's what happens when you get things inside of you where they happen intentionally or otherwise, it hurts you and it hurts the body of Christ. You're defiled. The body of Christ is defiled.

I couldn't say my finger there now I just chopped it off, it hasn't hurt my hand, or any other member of my body. But you're a member of the body of Christ and you need to come and get it straightened out. And you need to go...if there is somebody involved...go to them, it won't kill you. And you'll get it out of your system. God bless you now. One more verse and that's all. One more verse, all these come from over here too. One more, that's all. If anybody else wants to come you come on. Hallelujah!

SOFTLY AND TENDERLY JESUS IS CALLING,
CALLING FOR YOU AND FOR ME.
SEE, ON THE PORTALS HE'S WAITING AND WATCHING.
WATCHING FOR YOU AND FOR ME.

COME HOME. COME HOME.
YE WHO ARE WEARY, COME HOME.
EARNESTLY, TENDERLY, JESUS IS CALLING,
CALLING, O SINNER, COME HOME!

-- Brother Thomas: I want you men to come up here and speak to every one of these. And I want you to find out if they are saved or if they just feel like they needed to come. Maybe, well just something was bothering them. Whatever it is, you are trying to help them. You come and speak to them. Go all the way down the line and speak to them, each one and encourage them and remember them in prayer tonight. Don't come talk to them here and then go home and go to bed and don't pray for them. Pray for them.
