Editor's LetterDear Saints, Greetings to all in the wonderful name of Jesus! June has arrived once again and that means our June Convention is upon us. We are gathering in South Carolina at Calvary Springs Community Church from the 23rd to the 26th and expecting a wonderful time of fellowship and refreshing in the Lord. This month’s lead article continues the series on “What Does Deception Look Like?” The more I explore the subject the more obvious it becomes that the essence of true Christian faith is in the Person of Jesus Christ Himself. Where He is truly present and active other issues will take care of themselves. Where He is absent and a mere figurehead then deception has set in. Last evening at the Bible Tabernacle we had a wonderfully encouraging service that reminded us once again of some pretty basic and much-needed truth as many different ones shared. This life is full of trials, challenges to faith, and we need fresh reminders of truth to keep us steady and on course. Is God in charge? Job 42:2 – “I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.” Is there hope? 1 Peter 1:3-9 – “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.…” Heb. 6:19 – “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” Rom. 8:24 – “For in this hope we were saved.” Why did this happen to me? Rom. 8:28-29 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son....” How can I cope? 1 Cor. 10:13 – “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” Till next time let’s encourage each other and keep our eyes on the goal! Your brother in Christ, |
