Editor's LetterDear Saints, Greetings to all in the wonderful name of Jesus! We continue to be thankful to God for His great faithfulness to us and for the opportunities He has given us to share His word in so many ways. In that regard I would call your attention to a change in the TV broadcast lineup. We are no longer on INSP but are now on the NRB Network, broadcast weekly at 6:30 AM Sundays, DirecTV Channel 378. We continue to broadcast on the Church Channel at 5:00 PM Sundays, DirecTV Channel 371. There are some local TV stations as well. See page four. The broadcast is also available on the www.midcry.org website for those unable to see it otherwise. This past Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 5-6) saw a very special event. The Lord has blessed our South Carolina congregation with a new church building on Platt Springs Rd. in Lexington, south of Columbia. The weekend was a sort of “Grand Opening” celebration. On Saturday evening there was a gospel sing with much blessing. Folks gathered from our churches but there were also many from the community surrounding the church. On Sunday morning we had a joyous service, again attended by many. Our prayers are with the saints there that the Lord will greatly use the new facility to impact people in that area for Christ. Earlier in the summer we again had a very successful “kids Camp” here in Southern Pines with over 100 in attendance. The theme this year had to do with Praise and Worship. In this issue we continue with the series on “God’s Chosen People” with part 4. We are trusting that the other series on “How Do You Recognize Deception?” will continue at a later date. There is also a new article entitled “Commands and Promises” that I trust will be a blessing to many. We also include an older but still very relevant article by Bro. Thomas on “Temptation and Deception.” Bro. Jimmy Robbins and I covet your prayers as, Lord willing, we plan a return trip to the Philippines at the end of October and extending until the week of our Thanksgiving Meeting. We always keenly feel our need of the Lord at such times and desire that He will overshadow in everything that is done, that it might be for His glory and purpose alone. I am sure there will be a variety of opportunities for ministry. We also will be seeing the first all-gospel television station in the history of the Philippines at full-power. Thank God for this beacon of light that potentially reaches millions with the gospel. Your brother in Christ, |
